The Assistant Head of Primary is part of the Primary Leadership team reporting to one of our Deputy Heads and is responsible for leadership of both student welfare and curriculum aspects of the Primary School. The successful candidate will have a record of impacting positively on the development of excellent teaching and learning and leading successful school change. They will also have had significant middle leadership experience.

A secure understanding and experience in the management and analysis of pupil data, tracking and assessment to support pupil progress and attainment is a vital part of the role. It is likely that this role will focus on the academic care of students in Upper Key Stage 2 but the successful candidate will also have a portfolio of projects that impact the whole Primary School.

The Assistant Head should demonstrate the ability to foster high academic standards with strong planning and organisational abilities. The successful candidate must be an effective communicator, confident in establishing open communication with students, staff and parents. It is expected that the Assistant Head will actively support and articulate the values and character building principles of GIS.
