BAT GBS APME IS LOOKING FOR AN ASSISTANT MANAGER – CONTROLLERSHIP (GTR)
SENIORITY LEVEL: Mid-Senior Level
FUNCTION: Corporate Finance
SALARY RANGE: RM 7,500 – RM 9,500 + excellent benefits + market leading bonus
LOCATION: Selangor Malaysia.
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role is part of the Corporate Finance (GTR) Global Travel Retail team.
The role is responsible to drive a robust Cash Flow forecasting process for CY and CY+1 for BAT and industry, including being able to dynamically remodel scenarios as assumptions change.
Reports to: Manager – Controllership
Reporting Level: Manage self and others.
Geographic Scope: Regional Scope
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Develop and maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities
Effective cash flow management, utilization & treasury control for effective working capital management
Prepare Annual Budget and Forecast based upon organisational goals and the planned targets of the Management
Perform and supervise team for timely and accurate closing of monthly accounts including financial planning & analysis and required statutory reporting
Local GBS teams: This role works closely with other local GBS Finance teams (including Planning & Reporting, Accounting Services and Liquidity Team) and will have opportunities to work in cross-functional teams to focus on specific process improvement and/or analysis and insight
Investigating and responding to ad-hoc queries/reporting relating to financial performance and analysis requests
Monitor in operating internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting
Liaise with external parties such as auditors and tax agents for local statutory reporting
End market Finance business partners: Corporate and Commercial Finance team members at the end market, to drive a robust management forecasting and reporting process, provisioning of financial insights, ad-hoc analysis, and facilitating an environment where simplification and continuous improvement are prioritised.

Are you a professional qualified accountant or external auditor?
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
At least 5 years of relevant financial experience or similar dynamic operating environment
Understand the impact of the accounting process and practice (IFRS and group reporting guidelines). Good knowledge of Management Accounting techniques in relation to Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet
Understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and data
Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision
Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls
Business Partnering skills - ability to develop good working relationship with key stakeholders. Apply a commercial approach to all activities
Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically SAP or ERP equivalent
