Assistant System Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

Assist the Lead Designer in analyzing customer’s operational data and defining the design parameters based on the results of data analysis. Create and plan the layout based on Lead Designer’s concept solutions. Calculate required sub-systems scope based on detailed equipment performance calculation to fulfill the client’s material transport requirements. Request for quotations (RFQ) for sub-systems including preparation of sub-systems requirement specification, liaise with suppliers, review suppliers’ quotations, gaps identifications and other quotations related tasks. Analyzing the sub-system of the suppliers incl. the functionalities and the corresponding scope of supply. Prepare technical and functional descriptions of proposed system, drawings, engineering reports, presentation slides, cost estimation, quotation, tender documents and other supporting documentation for tender submission, tender interview and clarification to win new projects. Actively support the Lead Designer and/or Capture Team, technically, during sales and tender clarification phases. Provide support in the detailed engineering work of the chosen system during detailed specification phase.

Requirements:

A Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering or equivalent. At least 1 year of working experience in industrial system design capacity. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Access), AutoCAD, Revit and Google Sketchup. Pleasant personality, attention to details, organized with good presentation and communication skills. Good automated logistics system knowledge for automated and integrated logistic system. Open minded in assessing and solving technical and business-related issues (able to “think outside the box”). Customer centric. Proactive, innovative and creative, able to “think on ones feet” and not being afraid of change. Able to travel both domestically and overseas for business meetings, even on short notice. Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
