Contracts Manager-Civil & Water Engineering

Position: Contracts Manager.Salary: RM 10000-12000.Location: Shah Alam. Our client is a leading utilities and environmental engineering company, providing innovative holistic solutions, advanced technologies and professional management services in in civil engineering areas covering water,sewage,solid waste and drainage and flood mitigation sectors in Malaysia. Currently they are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join their team on a full time permanent basis at Shah Alam. The role is basically to manage contracts relating the various water projects, assisting the project team in delivery of works and managing the contracts team across the current and future projects. The Job Role The Contracts Manager plays a vital and critical role in the organization. As the Contracts Manager you will be in charge of the analysis of the contractual and legal implications of any issue related to the various projects undertaken. You will provide effective subcontract administration ans assist the project teams in the delivery of several numbers of water engineering projects to the key clients. The job will involve the following role: Responsible to manage and oversee the important legal documents relating to construction/water engineering projects. Manage subcontract packages,scope & lettings, procurement schedules and assist with head contract,progress claims and external variations. Manage the performance of contractors in terms of project expenditure,reviewing and processing all subcontractor claims and creditor invoices. Lead contract negotiations and implementation of contract variations as required. Maintain and monitor construction sites and works of subcontractors. Person Specification To be considered for this senior role as Contracts Manager, the successful candidate must possess the following skills and attributes: Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Law or Construction Management related degree. Possess a good knowledge and understanding in overall process of contract management. Solid with sufficient experience working in contracts administration on complex construction or water engineering projects. Strong and proven track record on large commercial construction or civil/water engineering projects. Possess a good technical knowledge of local legislation and construction procedures/practices and contracts such a FIDIC. Possess excellent communication skills in English (both spoken and written) and negotiation skills. An exceptional eye for details and ability to read off plans.
