The Corporate Devlopment team is essential to the strategic development and future performance of the company. It's a fast-paced, exciting and creative team to work with, where there is plenty of collaboration and engagement with the group's Leadership Team and senior stakeholder groups.

In this role, you'll be responsible for steering and supporting the company's planning and execution strategy. You'll be working with several key senior stakeholders across the company and you're needed to to develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of trends and be able to use this to help support the shape of the strategic agenda of the team.

Day to day you'll be responsible for:

- Helping to establish a pipeline of opportunities that align to the company's strategic ambitions.

- Undertaking detailed commercial and financial analysis, building financial valuations and impacts analysis, managing diligence activity, and supporting transaction execution.

- Providing assessment on accounting, capital, funding/liquidity etc implications of any proposed corporate transaction.

- Engaging with external advisors (e.g. advisor banks, accountancy firms, lawyers).

- Supporting the senior team in deal negotiations.

- Supporting the deal execution.

- Supporting the management of the annual strategic planning cycle in collaboration with Head of Corporate Finance and Corporate Finance Senior Manager.

- Contributing to developing team-wide insight into emerging themes, trends and threats.

- Preparing insightful reports and presentation materials to drive decisions.

- Directly supporting activities to lead and shape key strategic analysis for the Leadership team, working with business heads and leadership teams with a view to informing direction of the company's strategy.

- Contribute to and support the development of well-defined and convincing business reports/presentations for the Leadership Team to allow informed discussion and debate on the options available and associated implications.

- Working with the Senior Corporate Finance Manager to ensure that all operational and execution risk, regulatory, legal and customer, including conduct, matters are fully considered.

- Providing guidance and support in organic and inorganic activities aligned to the company's core strategic objectives.

They would love you to have:

- A knowledge of the M&A processes, valuation methodologies, legal and regulatory frameworks.

- Experience in project management and planning and execution.

- Understanding of industry, strategic, competitor, performace and risk analysis.

- Knowledge of financial services industry.

- Investment banking or client advisory experience is beneficial.

- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to tailor information to the Leadership Team/Board level.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to see the longer-term impacts of plans and the potential for improvement.

- Ability to fostor growth and development in direct and indirect reports, and use best practice techniques for coaching.

- Understanding and awareness of key regulatory and industry risks facing the banking industry.
