Job Purpose
Oversee and manage the efficient and safe operation of loading dock activities while adhering to relevant health, safety, and operational standards.
Coordinate logistics activities such as scheduling deliveries, coordinating with carriers and suppliers, and resolving logistical issues to ensure timely and efficient flow of goods in and out of the facility.
Accountabilities
Supervising Loading and Unloading Operations
Oversee the efficient loading and unloading of goods at the dock, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, timely handling of shipments, and proper documentation of incoming and outgoing materials.
Ensuring Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and security regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, regarding the handling, housekeeping, and transportation of goods at the loading dock.
System Oversight
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, and security systems at loading bay area to ensure they meet operational requirements and safety standards.
Resolving Issues
Address any issues or challenges that arise during loading and unloading operations, such as damaged shipments, delivery delays, or equipment malfunctions, promptly and effectively to minimize disruptions to operations.
Optimizing Efficiency
Develop and implement strategies to enhance loading dock operations, including workflow improvements, efficient organization of loading bay areas, and adoption of technology solutions to streamline processes and reduce turnaround times.
Emergency Response
Formulate and execute emergency response plans and procedures for the loading dock, ensuring readiness for incidents such as hazardous material handling, evacuations, and accidents to safeguard personnel and property.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process enhancement and cost savings in loading dock operations through regular performance evaluations, analysis of key performance indicators, and implementation of initiatives to boost efficiency and productivity.
Performance Management
Execute approved OPEX and CAPEX budgets for Loading Dock Services to effectively manage costs.
Requirements
Education : Preferred bachelor's degree in engineering, facility management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience in facility management, logistics, or specific experience in loading dock operations.
Knowledge : Strong understanding of loading dock operations, logistics processes, safety regulations, and inventory management practices.
Compliance : Knowledge and experience in enforcing health, safety, and security regulations pertinent to loading dock operations.#J-18808-Ljbffr
