ResponsibilitiesAssessing and planning space requirements for academic, administrative, and support functions.
Provide support for events organised by other departments.
Handling moves, relocations, and renovations.
Manage internal space bookings, including sports facilities.
Building Maintenance:
Implementing a preventive maintenance program for buildings and infrastructure.
Coordinating repairs and renovations.
Managing pest control and cleanliness.
Utilities Management:
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of utilities such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), water, electricity and chiller systems.
Implementing energy conservation initiatives.
Safety and Security:
Ensuring compliance with safety and building codes.
Implementing security measures for buildings and grounds.
Conducting regular safety inspections and drills.
Manage security reports.
Ensure the cafeteria is clean and tidy; supervise the appointed cleaning contractor to uphold health and safety standards.
Grounds Maintenance:
Managing landscaping and outdoor spaces.
Coordinating maintenance of lawns, gardens, and walkways.
Implementing waste disposal and recycling programs.
Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Managing and maintaining technology infrastructure, including networks and communication systems.
Coordinating with IT departments for the maintenance of computer labs and other technology-enabled spaces.
Take responsibility for fire alarm systems, emergency exits, smoke detectors, and fire extinguisher licensing.
Event Support:
Providing support for events, conferences, and meetings.
Coordinating logistics and ensuring facilities are prepared for various functions.
Capital Planning and Projects:
Participating in the planning and execution of construction and renovation projects.
Managing budgets and timelines for capital projects.
Contract Management:
Liaising with external vendors for services such as maintenance, cleaning & landscaping, and unarmed security.
Emergency Response:
Developing and implementing emergency response plans.
Coordinating with campus police and emergency services.
Sustainability Initiatives:
Implementing and promoting sustainable practices within the university facilities.
Managing energy-efficient systems and green building initiatives.
Transport Booking Management:
Coordinating and overseeing transport bookings for the university, including vehicle scheduling and allocation.
Ensuring proper documentation for transport requests and maintaining transport logs.
Liaising with departments and staff to address transportation needs.
Managing and updating transport booking systems to ensure smooth operations.
Ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, and overseeing regular servicing and repairs.
Supervising transport-related compliance with university policies.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Collaborating with academic departments, administrative units, and other stakeholders to understand their facility needs.
Providing support for the university's overall mission and goals through effective facilities management.
Responsible for vehicle maintenance and bookings.
Responsible for the issuance of vehicle stickers.
Manage vehicle access cards and maintain registration records.
Coordinate with the Convocation committee members.
Other Duties:Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to meet organisational needs from time to time.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Diploma or equivalent in a relevant field.
Technical Certification; Safety and Health Certification would be advantageous.
Category A4, Certificate: PJ4 – Low Voltage System (Below 1000V).
Related Experience:
At least three (3) years of proven experience as a technician, maintenance worker, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general maintenance practices.
Display an enterprising attitude and good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate values and beliefs about the University and its mission in a persuasive and motivating manner.
Good understanding of university management.
Ability to lead and motivate staff towards achieving set objectives.
Good knowledge and skills in using computer software e.g.
Microsoft software applications.
