Job Summary
The Finance Assistant will support the finance team by managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting in compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of basic accounting practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Record-Keeping:
- Maintain and update financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Assist in preparing and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Record daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy in data entry.
Reconciliation:
- Assist in monthly bank and account reconciliations.
- Verify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues as they arise.
Taxation and Compliance:
- Prepare and assist in submitting statutory payments such as EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and SST.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian financial and tax regulations.
Support for Financial Reporting:
- Assist in generating financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and expense reports.
- Support the finance team in preparing documents for internal and external audits.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Respond to finance-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in managing petty cash and other financial administrative tasks.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Provide support for budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning activities as needed.
- Assist in implementing process improvements for financial operations.
Requirements
Education:
- Minimum diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, though experience in a similar role is an advantage.
Experience:
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles is essential.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SQL, MYOB, etc.)
and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
