This is a full-time on-site role for a Finance Manager at PWS Global Risks Labuan Ltd in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
We are seeking a dynamic finance leader to drive financial operations for our reinsurance brokering firm.
You will be reporting directly to the CEO and indirectly to the Group CFO based in Singapore.
You will lead financial operation, budgeting, forecasting, cost control of office accounts, preparation of financial reporting (internal and external), and lead a team.
You will also lead in corporate, governance and risk management of the firm.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Finance and ReportingOversee and manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring efficiency and efficacy of the financial processes.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial reporting activities, including monthly closing, budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial data and assets.
Ensures accuracy of financial reporting and analysis and strict adherence to the monthly, quarterly, and yearly submissions to CEO, external stakeholders (e.g.
regulators, statutory bodies etc.)
and Group CFO.
Accountable for the statutory and compliance requirements for financial and regulatory related matters in accordance with the required standards and regulations.
Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, guidelines and standards.
Maintains and implements appropriate systems and processes to deliver effective financial reporting, controls and operations.Strategy Planning and Budgets and ForecastingTogether with the Principal Officer/CEO, drive and support strategic planning and budgeting/forecasting exercises across the organization.
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and objectives.
Delivery of forecast financial information to facilitate Management Team to drive results and to report on highlights and low lights as part of the reporting requirement for internal management and Board purposes.
Provides insightful analysis and inputs from business aspects i.e.
financial/operations.Corporate, Governance, and Risk ManagementParticipate and engage in Management and Board level meetings and discussions.
Responsible for Board meeting deliverables.
Deploy and monitor implementation of Board requirements.
Custodian for compliance with governance and risk management framework.
This includes internal and financial controls, Limits of Authority and Finance/Procurement/Contract Management policies and procedures and Revenue and Cost Assurance as well as Insurance/Risk assessments.
Liaise with external parties i.e.
customers, bankers, auditors, tax agent, company secretary and Government Authorities.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Office AccountsHandling and control of bank accounts which includes issuing of cheques, bank-in of cash cheques on a daily basis and monthly bank reconciliation.
Handling and maintenance of petty cash float.
Handle IRB Malaysia related matters e.g.
tax return filing matters.
Oversee administrative operations, such as facilities management, IT, and procurement.OthersAttend to any ad-hoc tasks/ analysis requested by the management from time to time.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or professional certification (such as CPA or ACCA) with at least 10 years of working experience.
Experienced finance leader with a proven track record of leadership in insurance or (re)insurance industry with a strong sense of accountability and able to work independently.
Candidates with experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry are preferable.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to quickly establish credibility and rapport.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
