In this role, the Full Stack Developer - Data Team at ZALORA will be a part of the Data Sciences Innovation Lab. This team serves as the gatekeepers and curators of the BIG data collected into the Data Warehouse/Data Lake from all aspects of our fashion e-commerce business and support data-driven decision-making. He/she will build scalable web applications that utilize the data in our Data Lake, work closely with the data engineers to deliver business insights in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with data engineers and product managers to deliver web applications that add business value through the data. Develop visually appealing front end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups and wireframes into front-end code. Develop RESTful services and APIs. Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions. Know Agile - Scrum project management experience/knowledge - Ability to prioritise, pushback and effectively manage a data product and sprint backlog.
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in building out scalable and reliable web applications, preferably in the ecommerce retail industry. Strong proficiency in writing production-quality code using Python and its web frameworks like Django or Flask. Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React, Angular or Vue. Fluent in CSS (Foundation or Bootstrap), JavaScript and HTML, with an understanding of CSS preprocessors including Sass and LESS. Deep understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) , No-SQL Databases (e.g. MongoDB, ElasticSearch) and MPP databases (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery). Experience administering and deploying CI/CD tools (e.g. Git, Jira, Jenkins) and Industrialization (e.g. Ansible, Terraform) in Linux operating system environments. Knowledge of cloud services like AWS, GCP, Azure would be a huge added advantage. E-commerce / logistics / fashion retail background a bonus.
