The Global Giving & Doing Specialist for the APAC region will join a global team that builds partnerships internally and externally to enable the company's philanthropic strategy and priorities to be executed in meaningful and impactful ways.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn partnership with the Global Giving & Doing team and local leadership, develop overall strategy for Malaysia & Philippines giving and volunteering investments across all employee groups, including manufacturing employeesMaintain relationships with existing NGO partners and seek new potential partners whose work aligns with Western Digital's global strategic philanthropic pillars and other requirementsManages company-sponsored volunteer events, including planning, logistics, employee participation, and tracking with responsibility for outcomes in Malaysia, Philippines and the broader APAC regionOrganizes and promotes employee participation in corporate Giving & Doing initiatives beyond volunteering, which may include: employee giving campaigns, scholarships, disaster relief campaigns, etc.Develops engaging and creative communications to encourage employee participation in Giving & Doing initiativesPartners with Global Giving & Doing team, site People Solutions partners and business ambassadors throughout APAC region to ensure volunteer events are effectively planned and executed in accordance with corporate guidelines and aligned to local cultural normsResponsible for the accurate and timely collection and reporting of data related to employee participation, company investment, and other relevant aspects of giving & doing initiativesPromotes and reinforces Western Digital's corporate philanthropic and strategic pillars to internal and external audiences.Represents the company with nonprofit organizations in the regions where Western Digital operatesReviews and escalates ad-hoc requests from local NGOsRegularly monitors local situations and advises on opportunities to support impacted employees and communities in natural disasters and other forms of hardshipServes as liaison between Corporate and APAC sitesQualificationsEducational background - College Graduate (preferably Business, Psychology, HRM)Must possess knowledge of nonprofit organizations - policy, area of focus, and engagement in the communityKnowledge of standard corporate philanthropic practices, including corporate giving and employee engagement strategiesExcellent communication skills including a strong grasp of both written and verbal English languageExperience in corporate working environments and personal interaction skills with all levels of employees; experience working on a global team is a plusUnderstanding of government regulations regarding corporate donations and dealings with NGOsProficient in email correspondence and standard Microsoft Office applications, especially Powerpoint, Excel, and Word. Experience with Benevity platform a plusProven record of developing and maintaining productive working relationships with employees at all levels, volunteers, and nonprofit organizationsAttention to detail and ability to work independentlyStrong collaboration and teamwork skillsStrong analytical, creative problem solving, and, organizational skillsExperience:2+ years experience working in social impact or corporate social responsiblity (CSR) preferred; prior human resource or community development experience will also be consideredAdditional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
