Work proactively with key business partners to ensure compliant trade and non-trade imports and exports by Agilent's businesses and functions across all assigned ports of entry, including adherence to all applicable U.S./non-U.S., and local laws and regulations and with Agilent's policies.- Accountable for all legal/regulatory compliance processes, procedures and representations for the Global Trade.- Focus on compliance oversight for all businesses especially in Life Science, Chemical, Analytical, and Medical industries.- Review products/services for impact of regulations such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Customs Regulations.- Train, consult with, and advise employees through assessments and audits of international trade practices of businesses.- Be the visible spokesperson for training activities pertaining to import and export regulations.- Supervise certain functions performed by Global Trade Specialists and/or Analysts and help manage/develop those personnel.- Assess and audit sites for import and export compliance. Partner with business and functions in developing and implementing corrective actions where necessary.- Assist business units and work with other GT region team members and legal counsel to help resolve trade compliance matters.- Oversight and accountability for 3rd party logistics service providers supporting GT region team. Act as coach to Agilent team members in managing service providers effectively.- Leverage Global Trade resources, best practices, and practices proactively. Communicate Malaysian trade issues and practices with the intention of deepening understanding of local trade issues and complexities.- Represent Agilent businesses in external associations and in government negotiations to ensure cross-Agilent coverage and beneficial to country operations.- Provide intelligence and guidance to global functions as to impact of trade legal/regulatory issues in Malaysia to ensure a competitive landscape for the businesses while maintaining legal/regulatory compliance.- Provide updates and strategies for the evolving Malaysian export control regime (STA) to the US based policy and compliance team and represent to MY METI and Customs.- Provide oversight and consulting on key duty preferences/saving opportunities for Penang Mfg. and KL Fields, and also customs and supply chain management/security programs (e.g. Duty exemption, FTA, AEO program, etc.) for local business groups and customers.- Work with other functions such as Mfg. Logistics, Customer Services, Product Regulatory & Quality Affairs to ensure compliance and awareness of key strategic developments in these functions.- Bachelors' Degree in International Trade, Finance, Accounting or other related field or equivalent experience in international trade, and typically 8+ years relevant experience for entry to this level.- Strong working knowledge and experience in international import and export compliance policies, audit procedures and foreign exchange controls.- Highly desirable, but not mandatory, are any or all of the following: technical, financial or scientific background, experience in Logistics, Export control, and Customs (Import) Broker's license.- Prior management experience desired. Affinity and passion for developing leadership talent and succession planning.- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with demonstrated ability to interact with senior managers and executives.- Process orientation - demonstrated ability to see the big picture and the end-to-end process.- Demonstrate project management experience.- Experienced in GTS/SAP platform environment.- Fluent in English.
