We are currently looking for experienced Head of Production to be part of our Consumer Healthcare Supply Chain business and this role will be based at Ulu Kelang office. You will be part of the site leadership team and reporting directly to the Site Director. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling production activities in accordance with established Company's and Regulatory Authorities policy such as GMP, Environment, Safety and Health procedures.
Other Key Responsibilities:
Cost of Good
- Manage the production operation and ensure timely delivery of quality goods with zero defects to services sales demand at the right cost
- Drive down cost of good by reducing labor hour and initiate improvement in equipment and process
- Reduce the number of product complaints with stringent in process check
- Prepare standard manufacturing and packaging norm, update in the BPCS Routing and control the production efficiency in accordance with production standards
- Evaluate COG of all locally manufactured products and provide improvement to Site Director
- Evaluate monthly wastage report for raw materials and packaging materials to ensure that it does not exceed the standards, which will have an impact on COG
- Evaluate cost comparison, feasibility of new products
- Initiate and implement cost savings programs after proper review and management approval
- Recommend to senior management policies, procedures to improve production activities Monthly Production Schedule
- Ensure Value Stream Manager prepare monthly manpower requirement based on production schedule given by the planner
- Ensure the production management team monitors the daily production output to achieve the schedule adherence target
- Be Proactive in directing and managing production management team in term of problem solving or alternate plan to avoid supply issue Operating Budget Plan
- Consolidate the annual operating budget for Production Department
- Annual manpower capacity planning
- Annual training list and expenses Capital Investment Budget
- Consolidate the Capital Investment Budget for Production
- Select, review, prepare CIP for the purchase of budgeted equipment
- Conduct discussion with supplier of equipment on cost, terms and conditions of purchase insurance and freight changes, regulatory, safety and GMP compliance etc.
- Manage the capital projects from approval, implementation and until the completion stge
- Purchase of machine to ensure that all new equipment are qualified and validated according to the corporate guidelines set Safety Compliance
- Encourage high safety awareness on the shop floor by promoting ZAP program
- Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed in the production department
- Conduct periodical risk assessment for production according to the corporate safety guidelines
- Identify safety training needs for the production and organize training program together with Safety Coordinator
- Ensure that all EHS SOP are written and reviewed accordingly Training
- Ensure adequate training is conducted to production staff in order to improve understanding and competency of employees as per Production SOPs
- Ensure competency of of staff in using the SAP system
- Ensure no trainings overdue for the department GMP and Compliance
- Ensure people, practice and premises are in accordance to GMP
- Ensure GSK QMS is implemented in collaboration with QA Why you?

Ideally, we are looking for someone with:
- Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing / Engineering or equivalent
- 10 - 15 years Manufacturing / Production experience within a manufacturing operating in Pharmaceutical / Consumer Goods / Chemical / Food Production industry
- 5 years & above experience in senior production management
- Good technical knowledge on equipment / machine & manufacturing process
- High standard of numerical, good communication and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of production planning, budgetary control and manpower utilization
- Strong leadership experience and ability to effectively manage and motivate staff to achieve mobilized production target
