Job Description Head of Supply Chain The supply chain manager coordinates the logistics of all aspects of the supply chain which consists of?five parts: 1) the plan or strategy, 2) the source (of raw materials or services), 3) manufacturing scheduling (focused on productivity and efficiency), 4) delivery and logistics, and 5) the return system (for defective or unwanted products). The supply chain manager tries to minimize shortages and keep costs down. The job is not only about logistics and purchasing inventory. Supply chain managers, ?make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.? Improvements in productivity and efficiency go straight to the bottom line of a company and have a real and lasting impact.? The Head of Supply Chain in Maestro Swiss will be responsible for the whole supply chain from demand planning, production scheduling, material planning, purchasing, receiving, FGI management, warehousing and logistics.? He/She will have the following departments reporting directly into them:
Production Planning & Scheduling
Purchasing
Warehouse
Logistics / Customs
Main Responsibilities?
The planning of demand through the companies S&OP process
The scheduling of production to meet demand within the limitations of capacity
The ordering of material to support demand using the companies MRP system
Maintaining raw material inventory at optimum levels
Maintaining FGI inventory at optimum levels to provide flexibility in supply and demand
Minimising unique customer material? through lower MOQs
Purchasing at lowest prices and lowest MOQs but with highest quality whilst reducing suppliers MOQs
Having secondary approved sources for all materials
Building strategic relationships with our key suppliers
Own the commodity purchasing process recommending bulk purchase to reduce costs
Source international where feasible to obtain lower costs
Negotiate for payment terms that are beneficial to the company
Manage warehouse operations to maintain high stock accuracy with minimum headcount
Utilise lowest cost logistics providers for all local and international shipments
Maintain 100% on time delivery
Prepare and manage the whole supply chains yearly budget looking for continuous cost down opportunities
Instil high efficiencies and quality work within the departments
Work within the boundaries of HACCP, FSSC22000, ISO 9001, HALAL, RSPO, UTZ, SFQ and other certifications on food quality and control
Requirements:
Candidate must have a career long supply chain background covering all aspects of the job with a minimum of 10 years? experience
A degree in a related Supply Chain Management subject is preferable but not essential
Skills must include planning, production, Leadership and communication and these must be demonstrable during the interview stage
Good knowledge of ERP systems
Northern regions based
