The IT procurement Manager is responsible for identifying parties for purchase of used computers and its components. He should be familiar with purchasing used computer on a direct relationship or through tenders/bids. The role encompasses the purchase through a competitive tender/bid process involving document preparation for tender/bids while leading external negotiations and working closely with internal stakeholders.
The position requires working with the sales team to understand the customer needs and plan procurement to ensure we are able to meet customer demands. You will be required to request and evaluate quotes, negotiate prices, follow-up on placed orders, arranging sourcing logistics and deliveries. You are responsible for making sure that all Purchasing processes run smoothly, you are the go-to person for questions from the organization, you create reports and analyse data. You are super organized and can work in a hectic environment. Even in stress situations you keep yourself cool.
Responsibilities
Put in place computer and related component sourcing strategy and oversee its implementation. Identify local as well as international sources for purchase of IT, Computer, laptops and its components. Identify local state as well as Federal government departments which buy and sell computers through tender/bid process. Identify the requirements and ensure we are able to compete. Work with the sales team to facilitate sell of computers to the local state or Federal government departments. Pre-qualify suppliers by assessing their credibility, track record and financial strength. Administer, facilitate and answer Requests for Information (RFI’s) received during the tender process. Review, analyse and clarify bid packages. Make and present recommendations after performing a detailed bid analysis. Actively participate in contract negotiations Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships, act as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues. Identify and support with negotiations of commercial cost reduction opportunities. Monitor and ensure that the items purchased are compliant with procurement policy. Coordinate Purchase Orders.
Requirements
Purchasing, Project Management experience. Experience in the business field related to high level of interactions with third parties contractors and vendors. Excellent attention to detail skills and ability to multitask. Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Advanced Excel skills Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement. Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve. Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders with proper guidance of a team manager.
