Laboratory Supervisor (1-Year Contract)

Responsibilities:Develop and manage a highly competent local laboratory team. Oversee the laboratory daily operations. Ensure the laboratory meets customers' satisfactions and fully complies with international quality standards and relevant regulatory requirements.Communicate with customers on technical issues and enquiries. Adherence and maintenance of laboratory Quality and HSE Management systems such as ISO17025, OHSAS 18000 and ISO 14000. Responsible for general administration of the laboratory which include lab chemical inventory, maintenance and calibration of equipment.To keep abreast of new developments in chemistry, analytical equipment, methodology and legal standards and to make recommendation to Lab Manager where these may impact the business.Promote continuing professional development and training of the laboratory staffs.Minimize waste and spillages during operations.Promote good housekeeping and safe system of work.Requirements:Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Chemistry or equivalent.Must have minimum of 7 years of working experience in Metals and Minerals or Coal laboratory preferably with an active IKM membership.Practical knowledge on ISO/IEC 17025 and expertise on measurement uncertainty.Strong technical background and analytical / problem solving capabilities.Required language(s): Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.Works well under pressure, challenges status quo.Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.Must be computer literate.
