The Lead Technician is responsible for supervising and guiding a team of Technicians in the assembly, testing, and quality control of instruments and service parts.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that production goals and quality standards are met while fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Technicians, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
Conduct regular team meetings to discuss production goals, quality standards, and safety initiatives, fostering open communication and collaboration.
Oversee the assembly and testing processes, ensuring compliance with production plans and quality specifications.
Monitor daily production activities and adjust workflows as needed to meet quantity targets and deadlines.
Implement and enforce quality control measures throughout the production process, ensuring adherence to work instructions and standards.
Analyze quality data and lead root cause investigations for any discrepancies or quality issues, recommending corrective actions.
Lead training programs for Technicians, including on-the-job training and skills certification, to ensure the team is equipped to meet operational demands.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development among team members.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance productivity and product quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a focus on operational efficiency.
Oversee the management of manufacturing materials, ensuring accurate inventory control and timely availability for production needs.
Conduct regular cycle counts and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess.
Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and practices, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Lead safety initiatives and participate in safety audits, fostering a culture of safety awareness within the team.
Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality metrics, and team performance, reporting findings to management as required.
Assist in compiling documentation for engineering studies and quality assessments.
Basic Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong technical competence in assembly, testing, and quality control processes within a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with manufacturing software and systems, such as SAP or other ERP solutions.
