#### Position Description: Managed Services / IT Consultant This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly technical dedicated team that
provides remote system administration services to our Clients. We enjoy
working closely together as a 3-shift operation 24x7x365 delivering
outstanding professional services to our Clients! We remotely monitor Client's
data center systems to find and resolve problems for them remotely. We keep
our Client's systems at the latest levels and perform quarterly health checks.
We communicate extensively with Clients, field service personnel, solution
developers, hardware developers, and product engineering personnel. We are a
fun-loving, highly skilled team that thrives in a fast-paced mission critical
environment!
#### Position Requirements:
Position Requirements: Primary Skills: [REQUIRED] Minimum 1-3 years of
experience - Linux Operating System
• Able to perform OS installation and upgrades with no supervision
• Advanced administration skills including Linux command line scripting ie
BASH, Perl, Python
• Familiarity with RPM package installation and compiling from source
• Able to perform high level problem determination
• Prefer SUSE 10.x or higher versions experience, however other Linux
derivatives are fine.
• Nice to have experience with Core dump analysis including back trace, GDB
General understanding of storage and file systems
• Prefer experience with Enterprise Clustered File Systems ie General Parallel
File System (GPFS), OpenFS, etc.
• Fiber channel card experience ie QLogic, Emulex, Brocade
• Fiber channel switch experience including QLogic/Brocade Command-Line
configuration
Hardware
• Experience with Enterprise class Intel/AMD based servers
• Blade and standalone
• Able to apply firmware updates with no supervision
• Remote management card experience such as IMM, ILO, BMC, U38, etc.
Networking
• Good knowledge of TCPIP stack and ports
• Understanding of DNS
• Switch command-line experience with CISCO, BNT, or Juniper devices
Communication
• Very good English written and verbal skills, additional languages are a
plus.
• Strong team work ethic and experience.
• Demonstrated dedication to Clients.
• Flexibility in shifts schedules, weekends and holidays.
Additional Skills: [DESIRED]
• Monitoring solutions ie IBM Director, Dell Open Manage, CA Unicenter, HP
OpenView
• Understand how monitoring systems work
• Able to configure alert mechanisms
• SAP BIA/BWA/HANA or Basis team experience
• HPC / Nutanix / VMWare / MS Azure stack experience
