The incumbent is responsible to assist the Actuarial Manager/ Senior Manager to provide support in relation to the implementation of the new reporting standard, MFRS / IFRS 17. Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Perform Prophet modeling changes to incorporate MFRS / IFRS 17 requirements, including ensuring all required procedures and documentation are completed whenever any revisions are made.
2. Assist in the production of Opening Balance Sheet for Transition and providing supporting analyses.Ensure proper documentation of work.
3. Assist in preparing documentation of justification or testing done of technical interpretations for audit purpose.
4. Provide support for system testing readiness.Provision of general actuarial support to other departments as necessary.
5. Provide guidance, training and general supervision to Actuarial Professionals if required.
6. Recommend solutions to improve governance, quality and transparency of processes and reports.
Job Specification:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field ASA designation is preferred; or 3 exams passed as a minimum.
2. Minimum of 5 years professional experience, with good product knowledge and demonstrated experience in actuarial modelling or financial projection.
3. Good understanding of the life insurance business.
4. Good knowledge of Prophet, VBA, C++, SQL and/or any other programming languages.
5. Strong modelling and analytical skills, with great attention to details.
6. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other MS Office applications.
7. Ability to communicate technical knowledge across all departments and at all levels.
8. Ability to mentor and develop junior members to achieve individual and company goals.
