Functional (job responsibilities)To manage the overall functions relating to Shariah Advisory.
To lead in providing day-to-day Shariah advice and consultancy to business and support units/depts to ensure Shariah compliance.
To manage in providing Shariah advice and solution in the process of product development and structuring which encompasses retail banking, business commercial, syndication and treasury.
To lead in reviewing documents i.e.
legal documents, manuals, marketing collaterals etc based on the request from business and support units/depts and provide Shariah input.
To manage in providing proper deliberation of Shariah issues which includes proper submission to relevant committees e.g.
HLISB Shariah Committee, Shariah Advisory Council of BNM and Shariah Advisory Council of Securities Commission.
To manage in providing Shariah approval as per mandated by HLISB Shariah Committee via the Delegation of Authorities.
To manage in ensuring that all tasks are in compliance with the Bank relevant SOPs, BNM Operational Risk Policy Document requirements and all other relevant Standard/Guideline.
To lead in ensuring that all regulatory and prudential requirements are being adhered to in managing the job functions and all regulatory reporting time lines, reporting accuracy are being complied with.
Other responsibilities which deemed necessary by HOD in performing Shariah Advisory function.
Managerial (team/group responsibilities)
To ensure Bank's Islamic financial business and operations are in compliance with Shariah principles at all times.
Hence to ensure an end-to-end Shariah overall compliant control mechanism shall be established in all aspects of its business operations and to ensure that all critical activities are Shariah compliant.
Organizational (organizational responsibilities)
To ensure Bank's business and activities are in compliance with relevant rules and regulations such as Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 and Central Bank of Malaysia Act 2009 and Shariah guidelines and resolutions issued by the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) of BNM.
This is to ensure that the Bank's Shariah integrity is at its highest level at all times.
To ensure adherence of Shariah compliance requirements in HLISB operations and activities.Jobholder Requirements
Education/Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Shariah, Fiqh & Usul Fiqh or equivalent.
Masters Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years working experience in the industry.
Certification/Licensing Requirements
Certified Shariah Advisor (CSA) will be an added advantage.
Special Skills
Meticulous, analytical and strong attention to detail and possess necessary managerial skills.
A fast learner with self-driven attitude.
Possess dynamic and positive attitude towards multi-tasking and working long hours.
