Manager - Osh (Occupational, Safety & Health)

Job Description Job Responsibilities: He or she will be responsible for the following
Establish, update and maintain Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) management system, manuals, procedures in compliance with legal and other requirements.
Monitor, evaluate, and review EHS policy, systems and practices, make improvement recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required in line with corporate requirements.
Advise the Management on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options making recommendations and generating actions plans to ensure compliance across the organization.
Monitor, review and submit reports to Management in a timely basis on EHS related data and records that were collected, compiled and maintained.
Administrate the EHS Steering Committee meeting competently and collaborate with Chairperson of Sub-Committee to ensure its performance.
Lead and ensure OSH team is in compliance to its objectives, targets and programmes.
Lead, manage and monitor OSH team in conducting workplace inspection on a regular basis to minimise adverse impacts on the business; identify potential hazards and recommend practical and cost-effective solutions in safety management; monitor, coordinate and conduct accident investigation as and when required and be the keeper of all records and ensure closure of all corrective actions.
Create and promote awareness, and implement Occupational Health and Hygiene management programmes.
Perform workplace safety orientation and training to employees and subcontract staff.
Maintaining liaison with relevant authorities and interested parties related to EHS.
Job Requirements:
Possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Science / Engineering (Environmental / Health / Safety) or in any related disciplines.
Experience working in OSH at least for a period of 10 years.
Minimum 3 years of experience in managerial role in EHS field.
Attended Safety and Health Officer Course organized by NIOSH or any professional body or institutions, registered competent Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with the Occupational Safety & Health Department (DOSH) - must have a valid Green Book.
Well-versed and compliant with EHS laws such as OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, EQA 1974.
Possess of relevant Certificates in EHS such as first aid, internal audit or etc. would be an added advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work in a stressful environment and have sense of urgency to respond to all relevant parties within stipulated timeline.
