Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, this is a role for an Engineering Manager who is able to lead the engineering team to drive for continuous improvement.

About the Manufacturing Engineering Manager Role:
Due to excellent results and future expansion plans, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will play a key role in the engineering and operations team continued development and success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management
- Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilised by the team
- Forecast future requirements and technical trends to drive gear suppliers in their technology roadmap
- Lead equipment evaluations. Assure measurement criteria meet all company site requirements worldwide
- Explore and monitor new processes and procedures to support customer’s expanding requirements on cutting-edge technology and product densification
- Assist Project and Design Engineers with design for manufacturability issues
- Ensure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant
- Utilise the company’s advanced engineering group to ensure useful support to the company
- Establish new measurement systems if/where possible
- Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are “best in field"".
- Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority
- Periodically “get down in the trenches” to rehabilitate troubled team or to help during product launch. Foster a “back to basics” mentality during these times. Lead by example; walk the talk
- Exchange knowledge and information with other manufacturing facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the organisation
- Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality)
- Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately
- Drive lean manufacturing in a consistent, structured manner throughout the campus
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy
- Know and understand corporate, plant and global PE, IE, and ME tactical and strategic direction
- Define, develop and implement a process engineering and industrial engineering strategy which contributes to the campus strategic directions
- Develop an understanding of the company business strategy as it pertains to industrial and process
- Manage technical support globally to sustain the corporate intranet site worldwide growth strategy as needed
- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
- Utilise tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value
- Provide feedback to peers on cost and cost trends The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years experience in engineering team management and five years of work experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.

Key Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree or above in any engineering field; master’s degree is an added advantage
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing/industrial engineering philosophies and processes
- Proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration, and change management
- Ability to read, analyse, interpret, and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Advanced PC skills
- Lean and 6 Sigma knowledge
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Ability to work in a highly productive, constantly changing environment
- Demonstrated success in implementing lean methodology for continuous improvement
