Description This is a Penang, Malaysia based Supplier Quality Engineering position (SQE), with possibility travel within Asia required, and elsewhere globally as the assignment evolves. Successful performance will include the following: Assess quality gaps in our external manufacturing supply chain for a specific Tier 1 customers. Provide improvement plans to shore up these gaps through personal effort and matrix management. Assure that these gaps are either fully closed or under continuous risk reduction. By assignment, lead on-site problem solving teams to successful resolution of escalated supplier quality incidents. Improve subcon quality among our major suppliers with measurable reduction in quality incidents. Eliminate excursions at our offending supplier sites within Malaysia. Perform required SQE audit functions for suppliers under the automotive standard. Obtain the necessary audit training and certifications to critically assess our supplier’s quality and to catalyze their improvement. Continuously write and verbally communication plans, progress, road blocks and challenges. Teamwork and alignment with other members of the supplier quality organization (EMQ). Teamwork and alignment with External Manufacturing, Global Quality, Business Units, Internal Manufacturing, and Supply Chain organizations. Qualifications 8-10 years or more Semiconductor Industry experience. B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. Significant experience working with an ON Semiconductor Tier 1 customer. Process engineering in WLCSP, Assembly, Test. FAB and product engineering experience desirable. Quality management experience with a proven record of quality improvement success. Program management experience with demonstrable successes. Major problem solving experience. Fluent in English and Mandarin.
