Why does this job exist and why is it critical? The Android App Developer is responsible for development for Mobile Application on the Android platform integrating with the Maxis backend enterprise platforms, unit testing, testing supports, and inclusive of BAU support& vendor management (if required). Android App developer is expected to work closely with UX Designer, technical lead and architects to analyze and comprehend business requirements and perform impact assessment on the Mobile Applications. Immediate goal is to ensure the good quality of work delivered, and long term goal is to develop Mobile App with maintainable and scalable structure. Key Accountabilities: Design and develop native Android applications for phones and tablets. Involved in the entire life-cycle of development until release to App Store. Perform coding, testing and documentation in line with user & system requirements to delivery source code, documents and test scripts. Perform work package/component systems design to ensure quality metrics are met in terms of maintainability, reliability, scalability and resilience. Support in production incident (if any) together with the team to help in resolve the incident within the committed SLA. Develop and Unit Test based on software design and code developed derived from user requirements and according to the application design principles, architecture and security guidelines. Perform impact assessment of user requirements to assess technical feasibility, and impacts to digital online platforms, jointly derive an acceptable solution together with stakeholders and architects. Craft detail design document (DDD) inclusive of data and interface design, in collaboration with application vendors (external) / and application owners (internal). Perform peer review of technical design developed by application vendors / owners Work with Operation support team for issues escalation The Fit: Degree in Computer Science or any related qualification. Candidate with 4 years hands-on experience in Android Mobile Application development Excellent technical knowledge of Java and Kotlin for Android and strong experience of the Android SDK. Knowing any of the Android Mobile Development Framework / Library will be an advantage. Strong knowledge and understanding of different Android platforms. Experience with multithreading, memory management, code optimization skills and caching mechanisms specific to mobile devices. Be self-motivated, responsible, dependable and enthusiastic team player. Aggressive, multi-tasking and able to work independently to meet tight datelines. Understood the requirements of the work and willing to take initiatives to find out, brainstorm or discuss with the team in case anything not clear. Able to take the initiative to highlight in case seeing or foreseeing any potential issues and suggest the relevant solutions that can help to mitigate the risks. Team player, comfortable working across teams and interacting with various departments. Good communications, problem solving skills and able to work under pressure and independently. What’s next?
