A public listed company in the agriculture of palm oil and other crops is recruiting for a Plantation Estate Manager to be based in Indonesia. Reporting to the Plantation Director, this role will have the responsibility to lead the entire plantation P&L with a combination of own estate and plasma over 15,000 hectares with its ecosystem of community and farmers.
About the Plantation Estate Manager Role:
In this Plantation Estate Manager position, you will be overseeing over 15,000 hectares with managers, assistant manager, supervisors and workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the work plan and budget for plantation operational activities to maximise operational expenses and profitability via estate budget plans
- Track the implementation of operational activities and the use of budget plantation periodically to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with the work plan and budget use conducted in accordance with the provisions
- Review overall productivity and output whether in the form of tonnage, harvesting round, quality of replanting and daily operations
- Proactively identify improvements in the management of plantation and lead the implementation of improvements to improve the overall performance of plantation
- Engage with local farmers (plasma) and ensure harmony, throughput and management of company’s investment To succeed in this Plantation Estate Manager role, you will need a background in general management and people management of overall agriculture estate. This role heavily involves P&L, budget, productivity, reporting and organisation leadership.
Key Requirements:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in agriculture/forestry, supply chain, or equivalent
- At least eight years of work experience with three years in a management role in managing people and plantation, preferably in palm oil/rubber/coconut estates
- Proven strong agronomic technical insight and sound judgement in resolving plantations issues such as technical or dispute among farmers
- Ability for the overall management, P&L, project management, legal compliance, handling conflict, and quality improvement The company has long history in the agriculture and had amassed over 100,000 hectares of plantation estate across the region being planted and cultivated with various crops in recent years.
