Job Overview: Support the project design engineering effort in the implementation of the scope of work in accordance with the project schedule. Support the design effort to formulate the most cost effective technical solutions, and to execute that plan in accordance with the requirements of the contract, and with Corporate and Area guidelines and procedures. Manage engineering and design interfaces to ensure that a consistent approach is implemented across the project. Monitor scope change and raises change orders to the project.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Support the entire design team in the execution of the project.
- Understand critical project design deliverables and philosophies to ensure compliance with specifications, contract technical requirements and functional integrity.
- Support an environment for building team morale, and develop a sense of ownership, accountability and urgency within the team
- Monitor design productivity and performance, investigate discrepancies, and implement measures to maintain or improve the schedule
- Provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by modification to corporate procedures and work instructions.
- Attend and provide input to in-house and client design engineering meetings as required by the project.
- Provide input and prepare responses to Client correspondence with regard to design engineering issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- BSc Degree in Relevant Engineering Discipline
- 10+ years in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant
- At least 3 years multidiscipline supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of design techniques and international codes and standards
- Understanding of offshore project execution and management techniques and strategies.
