Psycology Assistant

Job Duties: Within scope of practice and/or training, under the registered, direct supervision of a licensed psychologist

Administers psychometric instruments

Administers and scores psychological test

Conducts mental health interviews and other mental health assessments

Performs detailed mental health screens

Provides psychological interventions and treatment by conducting individual and group clinical interventions

Attends team meetings

Provides mental health liaison services to an assigned caseload, including the monitoring of the offender compliance with the mental health treatment plan

Completes psychosocial/psychological needs and treatment assessments as part of the comprehensive treatment team

Completes transfer and discharge summaries

Consults with other institution staff regarding mental health caseload inmates and their institutional adjustment and service needs

Writes and assists others in preparation of clinical reports and treatment plans

Documents all contacts with caseload offenders in the mental health chart

May serve as treatment team coordinator

Attends staff and combined treatment team meetings and psychology supervision sessions

Attends and teaches in-service

Attends professional conferences

Serves on committees and participates in staff development programs and research projects at the discretion of the supervising psychologist
