Responsible for specific commodity purchases; capital asset, factory facility & maintenance, Electrical & Electronics components, mechanical & pneumatics components, fabrication items and general other supplies and oversee other daily purchasing activities. - Responsible for sourcing, buying and expediting. - Responsible for negotiation on prices, credit terms, discounts and delivery arrangements. - Responsible to maintain proper records of purchases, quotations/sources, suppliers' information. - Release Purchase Order to supplier(s), once order is confirmed. - To participate in the creation of item number in ERP system. - Liaise and work closely with suppliers and other inter departments to ensure on-time delivery from supplier to support manufacturing and assembly processes. - Responsible for selecting and evaluating supplier base acceptable within company's quality expectation. - Conduct facility survey/audit of potential critical suppliers. - Supplier development in terms of quality, cost, delivery and service level. - To support RFQ activities, new project sourcing ensuring the cost competitive, quality and achieving expected time frame. - Responsible for quarterly supplier's evaluation and performance rating. - Responsible for maintaining the Approved Vendor database up-to-date. - Ensure deliveries push-out, pull-in, overdue PO or PO cancellation in accordance with latest build plan requirements. - Participation of drawing the action plan/measurements to achieve departmental objectives. - Support and implement company's objectives and goals. - Adhere to all company procedures & policy. - Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures. - To perform other task as and when necessary assigned by the SCM Manager. - Be aware of the risks and opportunities related to the job assigned. - Be aware of the needs and expectation of interested party, the consequences of failure and their impact.BBS Automation Penang is a German company located in Penang Science Park.
