Introduction
Our client is a coating manufacturer, providing coatings and coating intermediates to a wide variety of consumers worldwide.They are a MNC global leading suppliers of paints and coatings and specialty materials and chemicals. In Malaysia, their production plants are based at Klang area. The business has maintained a competitive edge through developing their portfolio and adapting swift to customer needs and demands which has a number of implications for Demand Planning. Currently there is an opportunity for a Purchasing & Logistics Officer to join their operations team at their manufacturing facilities at Klang.

Roles & Responsibilities
As Purchasing & Logistics Officer, you will be reporting to Purchasing Manager in carrying out duties. This role will focus on initiating purchases,inventory management and logistics function role, ensuring efficient delivery of products through their international supply chain. Your role will require you to build solid relationships with key suppliers, maintain central ownership of MRP methodology and liaise closely with domestics and overseas suppliers.
Key roles and responsibilities will be:
•Procurement and communicating regularly with suppliers.
•Purchase raw materials,packaging, trading goods.
•Work closely with the Raw Materials Store to ensure the delivery of raw materials and quantity are correct from the suppliers.
•Ensure that all delivery compliant for the Production are duly attended and follow up with Raw Material Store or with suppliers.
•Negotiate/liaise with suppliers on matters pertaining to raw materials, delivery,sample requisition
•Liaise with Customs department on import duties/sales tax/CJ5A issues and documentation.
•Ensure sufficient inventory at all times especially common raw materials.
•Practice prudent purchasing and prevent over stocking.
•Ensure all procedures comply with existing ISO standards and records updated.
•Generate Purchase Order to suppliers(Direct and indirect raw materials) after vetting all purchase requisitions are in order.
•Preparation of reports.
•Manage exports to sister’s company.
•Input of Good Receiving Note (GRN)/Delivery Orders into ERP system.
•Filing of all documentations and updating of all records daily.
•Assist in stock take at company level.

Candidate Profile/Person specification
Candidate(s) who wish to apply for this role will have a strong purchasing and logistics background, be a team player and with demonstrated experience in inventory control,international supply chain and stock importation procedures. This role will require candidate with tertiary qualifications in Purchasing,Inventory Management or Business with work experience in a manufacturing/production of chemical or paint industry.
•Possess a degree in Purchasing Management or Business Administration/Logistics Management.
•3-5 years of similar portfolio experience purchasing material planning and buying/purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
•Demonstrable negotiation skills.
•Strong PC applications skills;knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and internet applications and a detailed understanding of MRP principles.
•Excellent numeric and strong communication skills;proficient in English and BM,both spoken and written;advantageous if also conversant in Mandarin.

This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday with remuneration up to RM 4000.
