There is an exciting opportunity for a Retail Management Accountant to join our client in their head office as part of a team that prides themselves on their people and their customers.

This is an exciting, wide range position that will work closely with senior leaders across the company. The right individual must demonstrate the ability to seek out opportunities to challenge and reduce costs.The role also gives exposure to more technical accounting elements within finance. The successful candidate will need a significant degree of flexibility to respond to the various needs and changing requirements within the business.

Main responsibilties of the Retail Management Accountant include:

- Providing appropriate levels of challenge to the business via target setting, budgeting, reforecasting, return on investment analysis and other ad hoc analysis to support cost control, business efficiency and profit optimisation.

- Providing shared services reports including the production and review of profit and loss statements.

- Develop and maintain local reporting processes and systems which allow the shared services businesses to report and track key performance indicators and key business drivers.

- Facilitate the production of annual budgets, regular reforecasts and weekly estimates.

- Take responsibility for group reporting tasks and the fulfilment of statutory requirements as appropriate.

- Maintaining WIP and capex.

- Review and enhance internal controls and identify risk areas within the reported results.

- Maintain Balance sheet standards.

- Assist other areas of Finance and the Business with financial control.

We are looking for a candidate with:

- Degree level education and/or intermediate/finalist professional qualification ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent.

- Exceptional and sustained high performance in a financial career.

- Flexible and quick to embrace change.

- Experience with financial reporting systems.

- Retail industry experience.

- Strategic analytical experience.

- Highly skilled in systems, particularly advanced Excel skills.
