The position will assist PPG’s Internal Audit efforts in the Asia Pacific region. The auditor will help support training and development of the audit function and help drive productivity of the audit department and in ensuring the quality and consistency of audit fieldwork. Key Responsibilities Senior Auditors is expected to play active roles in planning, executing, and reporting activities related to a wide range of internal and Sarbanes-Oxley audits throughout the company. The auditor is responsible for the effective execution of Sarbanes-Oxley audits throughout the region. He/She needs to participate in developing the initial audit plan and assumes full on-the-job responsibility for satisfactory completion of assigned audits; including execution of audit programs, adjustment of the audit approach, supervision of audit team members, and communication of audit findings. It is expected that the auditor will be able to direct a SOX review independently in the field (i.e. without the Field Supervisor being in the field). (Approximately 50%) The auditor will also play a crucial role to the completion of internal audits performed in the Asia Pacific region. This will include directly participating in risk assessment, planning, fieldwork and performing direct audit procedures as part of an engagement team. Accountabilities include assisting audit teams to evaluate significant risks and issues, identify further testing or compensating controls, ensuring quality work papers, completion of the audit plan scope, completion of a quality site report by the end of fieldwork, consistency of issues across audits, and effective communication with business management about the audit. (Approximately 40%) The staff/ senior auditors are also responsible to support regional project work that supports the achievement of a more effective control environment. This activity is intended to support regional and business unit management. (Approximately 10%) Requirements This position requires a University degree in Business or Finance A minimum of five (senior) years of proven Auditing, accounting, or related business experience (required) English language skills and professional certification (CPA, CIMA, CFE, CISA, etc.) are preferred Written and oral proficiency with the Chinese language The position requires approximately 50% travel to domestic and international locations (subject to Covid-19 pandemic development). This position requires considerable analytical proficiency in order to properly evaluate the adequacy of controls and procedures Possess strong understanding of and able to apply accounting and auditing theories, procedures, and techniques and be able to effectively analyze relevant information Effective writing and oral communication skills are essential to clearly and concisely communicate audit findings in a persuasive manner The ability to plan ahead and multi-task is critical Considerable analytical proficiency is required along with business perspective.
