Senior Firmware Test Engineer

Job Title/Designation: Senior Firmware Test Engineer Requirement Details We?re looking for a Senior Firmware Test Engineer to join Cricut. As a member of Cricut?s Global Quality Engineering team, you will be a quality champion. An excellent candidate will have a passion for quality and enjoy breaking things through creative testing. You will thrive in uncertain, early prototype stages of a project when not all features are implemented and enjoy putting energy into identifying and classifying issues as a way to improve quality. Working from our office in Johor Bharu, Malaysia, you?ll collaborate with Software, Firmware, Hardware Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Product Managers, ODM, OEM and CM, to innovate, explore and incorporate continuous improvement of testing methodologies.
What you?ll do:
Design, develop and maintain innovative approaches to firmware/embedded software testing, including automation
Execute test cases, ad-hoc testing, debug and analyze results, report and track defects for systems under test
Isolate bugs and record issues in an issue tracking system
Analyze what impact bugs will have on customers and how the implementation will affect future development and the customers experience.
Experience in python programming
Good knowledge of USB, Bluetooth and other communication protocols
Extensive experience in testing USB/wireless device software/apps on Windows and Mac
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced development and release environment.
Generate project summary and status reports
Good to have:
Knowledge of Python, .NET, C/C++ and/or bytecode complied languages.
Understanding of Device driver, INF files, HLK and HCK systems would be a plus
Experience in Micro Controllers, DC Motors (Steppers and Servos), Motor Drivers, Flash and Ram memory structures,
feedback control systems, sensing systems or electronics troubleshooting would be a plus
Education & Experience:
BS or MS in CS/EE/ME or related degrees
5+ years experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers and sensors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
HELPFUL/USEFUL EXPERIENCE:
Experience writing and/or testing firmware, building embedded systems
Testing automation using Python or similar
