Aker Solutions' Application Engineering team based in Port Klang, provides engineering solution to the subsea business within Asia Pacific region. The team consists of various product groups which are capable supporting offshore services, manufacturing and also tenders. We need experienced engineers who have product/technology/market knowledge and conversant with requirements of various oilfield equipment codes and standards (API 6A, 17D, ISO 13628-4 and etc.) that can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the subsea market. We are looking for Senior Lead Engineer:
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- To work on major and minor Subsea projects
- To be responsible for verifying compliance with applicable codes, standards and customer requirements for the specific job to the approval of drawings, designs and specifications
- To ensure job is done within budget and time scale
- To involve design layouts, design calculations, design reviews and design verification and also making sure all health and safety and environmental requirements are met
- To assist with design prototype testing to verify that the functional and design criteria are achieved
- To be responsible for the supervision and guiding of junior staff in an organised manner to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards and the Engineering Departmental Procedures which form part of the overall Quality System Manual
- To provide technical support to any other Aker Solutions departments as required
- To liaise with customer representatives to verify and discuss the specific technical matters relating to current and past projects
- To communicate directly with and support offshore personnel for offshore deployment of Aker Solutions equipment
- To demonstrate through example of high commitment and alignment with Aker Solutions values including departments focus on continuous improvement in-line with all Quality, HSSE & Global Engineering KPI's initiatives
Qualifications and Personal Qualities:
- Minimum a degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years relevant design experience including detail engineering in an Oilfield engineering background
- Experience in working to ISO9001 standards
- Possesses in depth knowledge of design principles and operational requirements of subsea Wellhead, both vertical and horizontal Xmas Tree and workover equipment
- Fully conversant with requirements of various oilfield equipment codes and standards such as API 6A, 17D, ISO 13628-4 etc
- Have proven involvement with multi-disciplined Projects and be familiar with equipment and activities throughout all levels of the business
- Good communicator and good presentation skills
- Knowledge of Offshore working techniques
- Open mind for new ideas
