Global Risk Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk ypes, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Senior Loan Management Manager. Principal Responsibilities Impact on Business/Function: To manage Global Banking Markets (GBM) and Commercial Banking (CMB) Large Corporates (LC) accounts in order to minimise financial losses and accurately assess the provisioning requirement for these accounts. Formulating, implementing and continuously updating suitable recovery strategies. Leading / participating in bank groups to maximise recovery for the bank as well as the body of creditors. Customers / Stakeholders: To ensure maximum value is extracted from existing non performing portfolio and maintain the adequacy of the level of bad debt provisioning. To manage the expectation of senior management team in terms of recovery actions to be taken/recommended. Maintaining accurate and up to date impairment and recovery forecasts. Continually review and reassess the exit opportunities available for Non Performing Loans (NPLs). Maintaining relationships with banks and Investors active in the NPL market. Maintaining relationships with professional insolvency practitioners/bodies to keep abreast with latest market information/developments. Leadership / Teamwork: Management of Loan Management Unit (LMU) recovery support functions. Senior stakeholder engagement. Guiding and training recovery support executives in impairment worksheets/loan maintenance. Assist Commercial and Global Banking (GB) Relationship Managers (RM) in respect of managing Advisory accounts and providing guidance on accounts on Watch List. Operational Effectiveness and Control: To establish and maintain contact with legal and accounting professionals and with Investors/Debt Traders. Qualifications Requirements Possess a tertiary/degree qualification in related discipline At least 10 years of experience in credit analysis and lending capacity and preferably with corporate recovery work experience Good working knowledge of laws relating to insolvency, bankruptcy and receivership, and accounting Proven problem solving skills, with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions, including use of data and technology Ability to demonstrate a sound persuasive and influencing skill to convince stakeholders and senior executives Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical with strong interpersonal skills Well organised, with strong planning, and good time management Ability to prioritise, lead and work independently under pressure within a team environment.
