Senior Manager/Manager, Legal & Compliance

Jobs ScopeResponsible for overall supervision and advice of legal and compliance with securities laws, regulations and guidelines, and any other applicable law governing the regulated activities in Malaysia including REIT and non-REIT entitiesDrafting, reviewing, vetting and preparation of Contracts, Legal Documentations, Legal Correspondences and AgreementsAdvise on trademark, dispute resolution, arbitration, employment and industrial relationsDevelop compliance framework, policies and procedures on Corporate Governance and business-related issues.Liaise with Solicitors or Authorities with regards to all legal mattersResponsible to design and monitor control systems to deal with violations of legal rules and internal policies and regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements.Provide response and necessary information within the compliance requirements during internal audits and external audits/enquiries by the authorities/regulatorsAttend to and solve any legal, risk and compliance issues that may arise from time to timeEnsure that all legal, risk and compliance obligations pertaining to the real estate investment trust and manager of the trust are met at all times.Develop and update compliance plan and coordinate the compliance reports for purposes of ensuring that the compliance needs are met for the real estate investment trust and the manager of the trust.Update and disseminate updates and information required to management in order for the real estate investment trust and manager of the trust to remain compliant with the laws and regulations.Prepare quarterly reports and verify checklist with HODs for respective area of complianceLead employee training sessions on legal and compliance issues.Handle legal related corporate matters & undertake ad-hoc projects & duties assignedJobs RequirementBachelor’s degree in law, business administration, or relevant field.A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a compliance officer, compliance manager, or similar position.Good knowledge and understanding of corporate governance, regulatory compliance and familiar with organisational best practicesExposure to hospitality, commercial or retail business audits is an added advantageFamiliar with local Malaysia relevant law. legal requirements and guidelines especially Company Law, Securities Commission and Bursa Malaysia, etc..Strong knowledge of industry processes and regulations.Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skillProficient in written & spoken English and Mandarin. Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage
