SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, for our manufacturing plant located at Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer be responsible for the development of manufacturing methods to produce advanced technology products. Work under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager in the development of new processes, introduction of new products, cost reduction projects and capital justifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Support the transfer of machine and process knowledge from S&N Orthopedic sites to Malaysia. Including installation and validation of new equipment and their respective processes.
Provide daily production floor support for Area of responsibility.
Lead JHA development for assigned projects. Comply with all HSE training requirements and procedures identify and lead actions for HSE improvements.
Develop, Improve, and maintain all manufacturing documentation for highly complex processes per compliance in assigned areas under general supervision. Provide guidance to P1 & P2 engineers in development, improvement, and maintenance of manufacturing documentation.
In conjunction with the quality group lead investigations, identify and implement corrective and preventative actions, provide the necessary engineering inputs to appropriately disposition material with minimal supervision.
Lead value stream mapping, A-B-C / R-R-S Rhythm Wheel activities & providing capacity analysis inputs for an assigned project (internal process). Recommend process changes to support line balancing to help optimize value stream output as needed. Provide forward-looking capacity analysis to Supply Planning to ensure supply chain is stable.
Develop methods for manufacturing complex components and assemblies with minimal supervision. Create work instructions and routers. Design, develop, construct and implement tools, fixtures (includes test fixtures, as req'd.) and gages. Program machines and implement automation as appropriate for site. Release work instructions, drawings, PM and calibration requirements and spare parts list. Consistently leads Process Validation efforts (URS/IQ/OQ/PQ), along with Quality team support.
Identify and lead larger impact, more complex productivity projects. Can lead Capital Equipment Acquisitions. Can deliver Work Instructions, Standard Work, Productivity Projects, Value Stream Mapping, Lean & Waste Reduction
Partner with NPD lead engineer in design transfer deliverables with minimal supervision. Provide voice of the factory in DFM reviews and design transfer meetings. Drive factory level execution. Assist in identification and selection of new equipment to support NPD production.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
BS (MS preferred) in Engineering, Science, or related field + 5+ relevant years of professional experience
SKILLSETS:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of complex GD&T, measurement system analysis and tolerance stack analysis. Able to read, interpret and update drawings for complex detailed parts and assemblies. Able to choose and perform the appropriate method of tolerance stack analysis for complex assemblies.
Advanced understanding of project scheduling and reporting tools inclusive of risk registers, ability to create project plans for large complex projects requiring significant cross-functional team effort. Able to lead projects with limited supervision.
Ability to collect data and utilize Minitab to run a capability analysis. Understand Cp, Cpk, normal distribution.
Advanced understanding of MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio.
Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD
Able to perform Root Cause Analysis, VSM, DFM. Basic understanding of VAVE, MSA, Lean manufacturing principles, and 6 Sigma.
Able to provide advice/coaching to others around best practices for communicating key information.
