Job Description

TheSenior Simulation Engineerwill be based inPrai, Penang .
You will be part of a global team and be responsible for the design and development of complex factory simulation packages in order to meet customer requirements together with customers, sites, segments and groups. From the design of concepts, through development into fully functional and tested simulations. You will work on innovative solutions that improve the usability of our software solution as well as integrate the software into Flex operations worldwide. You will train stakeholders, coordinate project activities and provide support for ongoing manufacturing activities and challenges related to discrete event simulation (DES).

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

Function as the primary subject matter expert and go-to contact for project and/or training requests related to simulation with a focus on the EMEA area, and global Flex stakeholders
Analyze and research data related to operational metrics and manufacturing environments
Confer with all support team personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop corrective actions, method improvements to resolve problems and develop simulations
Prepare line or environment layout designs using detailed drawings (i.e., visuals, Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI), eWI, etc.
Analyze data and reports to determine if data meets functional and performance specifications for simulation
Confer with other engineering stakeholders and prepare modifications as required
Evaluate results for possible improvements of existing builds and operations
Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks to further connectivity and integrated operations
Coordinate engineering activities for the Customer Focus Team (CFT) and coordinate with the customers to resolve problems
Develop and update documentation to establish methodology and requirements

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
A finished degree in Engineering such as Manufacturing, Process Engineering or similar
Several years of professional experience in manufacturing/process engineering
Experience with discrete event simulation software is required (FlexSim preferred)
Experience training business and engineering stakeholders on simulation topics
Professional level English is required for this role
Experience working with CAD software is required in this role
Experience transforming complex sets of data and concepts into understandable presentations
Strong Excel skills are expected in this role
Willingness to travel to various sites across the Asia region (up to 50% avg.)

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
Ideally you have extensive prior experience in an industrial context such as EMS or a regulated industry such as Automotive, Medical or similar
Experience working with business stakeholders on all levels and translating business requirements into functional specifications
Experience with LEAN processes or certifications such as Lean Six Sigma are an advantage
Parameterizing skills in simulation software are an advantage
Programming skills in C#/C++ and/or SQL are an advantage
