PURPOSE:
- Develop and test new applications according to provided requirements and direction provided by your team lead.
- Investigation and implementation of bug fixes as well as enhancements to existing applications.
- Completed all work within reasonable estimated time frames and meet customer requirements and within the development guidelines set across the global development shared service environments.
OBJECTIVES:
- Work within the team and help ensure the successful delivery of the various products and solutions within estimated time frames;
- Ensure on-going good development practices for consistency, reliability, performance and maintainability and in-line with defined coding standards;
- Help support the Customer Service team when they require application support and in-line with customer SLA’s.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing a good understanding of work allocated for successful delivery within allocated time frames;
- Follow defined coding standards and development guidelines and to have input into these standards as and when required with your Team Leader;
- Perform complete testing of developed work to reduce follow-up requests and bug fixes;
- Raise questions and concerns and provide feedback for projects as early as possible to minimise impact on delivery times and to meet project deadlines;
- Suggest ideas and enhancements for existing processes, programming libraries etc;
- Familiarise yourself with Internet resources around B2BE development standards for development assistance;
- Work on improving problem solving capabilities and understanding of how to apply technical solutions to problems while sharing these findings with your team, knowledge sharing systems and Team Leaders;
- Work on understanding the supply chain industry and business process and how our products and solutions fit within the supply chain;
- Continually learn and enhance programming skills to improve development turn-around time frames and make a positive impact within the project environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate must possess or currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent;
- Minimum 4 years working experience in software development as front-end UI developer;
- Experience in full software development lifecycle from design to deployment;
- Proficient in building web UI with PHP (at least 5.x), CSS, HTML and Java script.
- Familiar with YUI library and CodeIgnitor framework highly desirable;
- Sound knowledge of MySQL 5, and be able to compose complex SQL clauses;
- Experience building and integrating API’s: XML, JSON, SOAP.
- Experience with code versioning tools: Git, Bazaar.
- Good communication skills and can liaise and work with others not only locally but within the B2BE global environment;
- A good eye for detail, quality and strong analytical skill;
- Demonstrates a proactive approach, getting things done, demonstrates accountability & ownership.
