Summary of Role

Maintain accurate set of financial accounts for the Global Business Services (GBS) legal entity and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) legal entity. Ensure compliance to local regulatory and tax requirements.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Financial Accounting and Balance Sheet Control (MAPA)

- General ledger accounting and financial control including but not limited to posting monthly salary/ depreciation/ accrual/ prepayment journals including but not limited to rental/ lease agreements, insurance.
- Account for intercompany transactions and coordinate with corporate centre and counterparts for intercompany settlements.
- Performing month end closure activity as per agreed month end calendar.
- Preparation of bank reconciliation to ensure proper governance of bank accounts
- Prepare other balance sheet reconciliation to ensure robustness of accounts, and investigate and clear differences on a timely basis. Audit, tax and Statutory Reporting

- Manage the interim and yearend statutory audit addressing management letters points where relevant.
- Ensure tax compliance through monthly, quarterly and annual tax return filing and payments. This includes corporation tax, indirect tax and any other tax that may deemed applicable with change of tax law in Malaysia.
- Coordinate with the company secretary and board of directors for submission of annual returns to relevant regulatory authority. Management fees charge-out
- Forecast the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cash requirement based on spending needs and ensure availability of funding through grant requests.
- Prepare the grant request and account for the grant accordingly. Periodically reconcile the grant to the people and non-people budget.
- Handle management fee recharge model from GBS to other legal entity within the group.
- Manage transfer pricing transactions and handle intercompany management fees for GBS service provision CIMA UK

- Support the monthly/quarterly/year-end closing and reporting for CIMA. Ensure the GL Ledger is closed on time;
- Analyse and prepare complex general ledger journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation;
- Prepare account reconciliations and ensure that all reconciliations are completed by set timeline;
- Investigate and resolve all open items related to month end closing and account reconciliation
- Deliver external and internal audit requirements as assigned by line-manager
- Support R2R Manager in supervising transition activities with the Project Team in R2R activities, including but not limited to documentation of processes, attend training and meeting with knowledge holder;
- Handle any other tasks and ad hoc assignments as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities

- 3-5 years of related accounting or commercial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or management
