The Opportunity
Grass Valley is seeking a fulltime Software Development Engineer to help develop applications and user interfaces for Grass Valley AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform). The engineer will join a distributed team developing a next generation media processing framework. This position requires a hands-on engineer with strong engineering & programming skills and ambition to take on new projects, define & own what needs to be done, and see it through to conclusion. The Software Development Engineer will have direct involvement in the main aspects of the software development lifecycle. The role involves close collaboration with the other groups in the company in order to deliver high quality solutions to our customers.
Candidates with the appropriate set of skills and experience may be considered for a senior level position.
Your Role
- Responsible for application design and development in partnership with application designers and other team members;
- Product/Features implementation, code review, follow and ensure compliance with the coding practices;
- Create, optimize and maintain unit tests;
- Execute engineering test before handing over to QA;
- Prepare user support materials in partnership with technical writers;
- Provide maintenance support by investigating and rectifying reported systems shortcomings;
- Apply and optimize software development practices, development, testing and integration in Agile/Scrum environment;

- Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of development experience with .Net Framework, C#, HTML5, REACT.js, REST, ASP.net, CSS, Javascript
- Knowledge of following technologies will be advantageous: TypeScript, HTML5, micro-services, Kubernetes, Docker containers, Cloud deployment
- Knowledge of the following tools and environments will be advantageous: Visual Studio, Git, Windows, Linux
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for writing quality software
- Great accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of software development
- Team player, proactive, motivated and good communication skills
- Analytical and strong problem solving skills
- Passionate for continuous learning and able to adapt to fast-changing technologies and environments
