Staff R&D Product Characterization Engineer

Job Description Job Responsibilities: Support R&D Manager by proposing new advanced and improved characterization methods/tools for new products and platforms.
Champion in depth and advance Product Characterization reports with thorough analysis and solutions which will help project teams make sound decisions and minimize the project/product technical risks involved.
Ensure Product Characterization analysis report at the various Milestone stages cover the various aspects of the Product Development and Manufacturing concerns.
Ensure product performance matches product datasheet specifications/must-wants at every stage of the product creation process.
Highlight with solutions to resolve product performance issues during development to the relevant project team so that the issues can be addressed accordingly.
Collaborate with cross functional teams from product definition stage, introduction to manufacturing until high volume production.
Supervise and coach Senior/Lead Product Characterization Engineers.
Job Requirements:
BSc/MSc or equivalent in relevant fields of Engineering or Applied Science with minimum 8 years of related work experience.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate clearly with the Management team, Engineering and Project team he/she is involved with.
Experienced and hands on knowledge with structured improvement techniques and associated tools - Statistical Engineering, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified, Minitab and/or JMP, Design Expert, DOE, 7QC, SPST (Structured Problem Solving Tools), FMEA, DRBFM and others.
Passion for Work ? possesses positive and open work attitude, willing to stretch to meet Business Goals. Ever willing to coach and guide Senior/Lead Product Characterization Engineers.
Having 5 to 7 years of in-depth (direct or indirect) experience in high power optoelectronic device (LED) Product Characterization, Process Characterization and/or Failure Analysis.
Combination of experience in any of the 2-3 functions; Product, Process, Test, Failure Analysis and NPI engineering.
