Candidate will be located in Klang, GCS HQ.
Key Responsibilities: -Food Procurement: -Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with food suppliers, local businesses, and community partners for the donation and purchase of food and goods.
-Negotiate and secure food donations, both perishable and non-perishable, from food manufacturers, grocery stores, and restaurants.
-Ensure that food procurement aligns with the food bank's needs, budget, and mission.
-Inventory Management: -Maintain accurate records of food inventory, including tracking donations, purchases, and distribution levels.
-Monitor food supplies to ensure the availability of a variety of nutritious food items for beneficiaries.
-Conduct regular inventory audits and manage food storage to meet health and safety regulations.
-Program Coordination: -Coordinate food distribution events and services, ensuring proper allocation to individuals and families in need.
-Work with volunteers to prepare food packages and assist with distribution efforts.
-Ensure that food bank operations follow safety and health regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
-Volunteer and Staff Coordination: -Supervise and train volunteers, providing guidance in inventory management, food distribution, and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
-Collaborate with other team members to support overall organizational goals, ensuring high-quality service and outreach.
-Reporting and Compliance: -Prepare regular reports on food donations, inventory levels, and program outcomes for senior management and funders.
-Monitor and ensure compliance with local health codes, food safety standards, and organizational policies.
-Maintain up-to-date records for all food donations, purchases, and distributions for reporting and auditing purposes.
-Community Engagement and Outreach: -Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, farmers, and community organizations to ensure continuous food supply and donations.

-Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) in food procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations, ideally in a nonprofit or food security environment.
-Experience in managing volunteers and coordinating teams is a plus.
-Skills and Knowledge: -Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
-Inventory Management: Experience with tracking and maintaining inventory, including managing both perishable and non-perishable food items.
-Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food handling, storage, and health regulations.
Familiarity with local food safety standards is essential.
-Negotiation Skills: Ability to secure food donations from suppliers, businesses, and community partners.
-Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with beneficiaries, volunteers, partners, and senior staff.
-Attention to Detail: Careful attention to record-keeping and maintaining accurate inventory and distribution logs.
-Technical Skills: -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent software.
-Familiarity with inventory management software and other tools related to food distribution (preferred).
