As part of the GDS strategy, BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur (BSSCKL) is one of the established Digital Hub for APAC region. In GDS, as a technical consultant in the Legal, Tax & Consolidation team, you will consult Business Solution Consultants as well as operating divisions or service units in technical questions. You would need to understand functional solution designs and translate them into technical designs and realization. You are responsible for the design and development of functional or technical applications or the enhancements to existing applications. You will be expertly responsible in server maintenance (Windows and Linux) and ideally, complemented with a good knowledge of UX development (e.g. SAP Fiori, mobile Apps, UI5) and different programming languages (e.g. ABAP, SQL, JAVA). You will also need to have a deep knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, implementation and development of new software and in database technology. Main Tasks Technical design and implementation of application enhancements and new applications for BASF Legal, Tax & Consolidation processes Development of those applications by using state-of-the-art design and programming methods; ensuring compliance with all relevant BASF guidelines for development Ensures sustainable and stable solutions from a technical point of view together with the business operations Maintenance of applications hosted on Windows, Linuxserver or in a cloud environment Management of complex development environments using both internal and external resources Contributes to planning and provides cost estimations for complex projects Supports creation of (functional) Solution Design Documents Supports testing and error correction activities Contributes to act according the agile values and principles Self-organized working within our product oriented working approach In the digitalization/innovation aspect, act as a Global / Regional representative of BASF Digital community, supporting BASF Digital roadmap, helping GDS to identify, execute and implement customer-centric digital solutions in an actionable and measurable way Requirements Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required with preference in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field Working Experience At least 4 years professional experience in a Technical Consultant role, as software designer or as developer Technical & Professional Knowledge Excellent skills in application hosting on Windows and Linux Server Excellent programming skills in an object-oriented programming language (Java or similar) Experience in development with CDS views Fundamental programming skills in ABAP/ABAP Objects or other programming languages/technologies such as SAP Web Dynpro, Hana Studio (Weaver), BOPF (Business Object Processing Framework), SA UI5, Fiori, ABAP OO or Eclipse Experience with SAP Tax Compliance Management (or similar Application) General knowledge about taxation (also in SAP - common tables, fields, transactions, etc.) Excellent English communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in an international team combined with a very high level of customer orientation Experiencing Agile way of working or agile implementation approach Strong Digital mindset to accelerate BASF Digitalization transformation journey Well-developed proactive and self-driven character High sense of responsibility for collaboration for achievement to foster sustainability BASF regional service hub has been established since 2005 in Kuala Lumpur.
