RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce technical documentation to support projects including but not limited to:- Operations and Maintenance manualsCustomer and internal bulletinsSoftware release notesProcedure and Instalation guidesTraining materials
- Create documents schedules, set and meet deadlines and coordinate support with project managers/teams as required
- Research, understand, and interpret engineering documentation (including Engineering Change Orders, CAD drawings, requirement specifications, and test documentation) for use in technical manuals.
- Specify and produce technical graphics (photos/illustrations) for publications.
- Interface with various engineering, manufacturing, sales and service personnel to gather data for publication to provide documentation for customer use.
- Create and maintain electronic copies of all documentations.
- Contribute to and follow procedures established for publications group in terms of style, content, structure, organization and technology usage.
- Any jobs that may be assigned from time to time. REQUIREMENTS:
- Education & Training : BS/BA Engineering degree or equivalent education and experience. Degree or training or certificate in Journalism or Technical Writing a plus.
- Experience :Five years proven technical writing experience, two years manufacturing, automation and/or electromechanical industry experience.
- Skills/Technical Requirements : Understanding engineering change processes.Familiarity with observing and documenting hardware installation and procedures.Familiarity with SolidWorks/eDrawing.Advanced experience with Framemaker for publishing technical documents Experience and skill in formatting, table design, book configuration, auto-numbering/outlining, embedding graphics, applying and updating styles, and working with templates.Advanced experience with Microsoft Word for publishing technical documents.Use of styles, tables, importing graphics.Advanced experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project and Outlook.Intermediate experience creating and manipulating Adobe Acrobat documents.Intermediate knowledge of other hardware and software tools used in document preparation (e.g., scanner, digital camera, Adobe FrameMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
