Job Description: Test Engineer with LabVIEW Experience
The successful candidate will report to the Test Manager and must be experienced inlogical and systematic conversion of customer or product test requirements into a comprehensive yet cost effective test plans and hardware/software test configurations. These implementations may range from development through hardware acceptance and qualification.
This position will provide subject matter expertise with regards to the testing of aerospace hardware, and provide guidance to programs and projects regarding the execution of development, acceptance, and qualification test campaigns.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability towrite test plans and procedures as well as implement integrated test software and hardware solutions both at internal company facilities and external facilities.
The candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 8-hour workday and 40-hour work week. This position provides direct support to the Test department.
This function is responsible for but not limited to the following:
Essential Functions
Write/Modify LabVIEW code for testing and data acquisition
Design, document, implement, and troubleshoot electronic and electrical test components.
Develop, implement, operate, and troubleshoot data acquisition and control for discrete I/O, analog sensors, thermocouples, RS-232 serial communication, etc.
Determine system-level requirements into individual specifications for mechanical, electrical, and software components of a system and select appropriate hardware.
Accurately project the time required to develop LabVIEW programs, given a scope from the design and test engineers.
Write robust LabVIEW code with error handling, buffering, and memory management techniques in order to create solutions that can run unattended in a Windows platform for weeks or months.
Practice effective revision control of programs.
Effectively troubleshoot the systems associated with the LabVIEW program, including software, host PC, sensors, electrical junctions, etc.
Reliably document test results design, configurations, and similar documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience programming in LabVIEW.
Altium PCB Design experience.
LT Spice familiarity
Minimum Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA) preferred.
Understanding of good programming practices and higher level concepts.
Some practical electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
Experience with common laboratory sensors and instrumentation.
Experience with solid modeling or electrical CAD. Visio is desirable.
U.S. Citizenship or US permanent resident status is required for this position.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or equivalent field. Plus 3-5 years with system and /or hardware design experience in the aerospace industry
OR
Master's degree in engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or equivalent field. Plus 2-4 years with system and /or hardware design experience in the aerospace industry.
