Job Description - Wintel Infrastructure Specialist (250000C1)
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be part of OCBC Bank Infrastructure as a Service team based in Cyberjaya.
This role will involve significant focus on process improvements, incident reduction and service quality improvements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the management and upkeep of the Windows Server Platform of the bank, together with the VMware hypervisor platform on which it runs, ensuring the services are up and running without downtime.
Work closely with different application SREs to ensure the system services are healthy.
Act as a subject matter expert for the application team on addressing requests on the Windows Platform.
Set up new servers (both physical and virtual), configure Windows Failover clusters, ensuring security reviews and endorsements are completed.
Collaborate with vendors during hardware maintenance at the Data Centre.
Document and automate in small increments as we work on different task iterations.
Act as a consultant on your expertise to other IT/Application, network, application, and middleware teams across the bank.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Management.
Relevant experience of over 6 years in Windows Server Management.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, Wintel high availability solutions (Clustering), and cloud-based platforms.
Hands-on experience in new system setup, system hardening, and basic infrastructure system tools.
Experience in troubleshooting VMware Infrastructure and in-depth knowledge of VMware features.
Experience in print server management.
Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation of Windows tasks using scripts or tools.
Experience in in-depth troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of technical issues, providing resolution/mitigation steps and generating incident reports.
Experience in auditing IT Systems, ITSM operations, and processes.
Ability to install, troubleshoot, harden, and secure Windows systems.
Knowledge in server upgrades and cutover from one operating system to another.
Experience with different ITSM tools.
Experience in Incident Management processes.
GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS:
Experience in the Financial Services industry would be a plus.
Relevant certifications in Windows, VMware, Citrix/Public Cloud would be advantageous.
Positive attitude and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
Prior experience in documentation and SOP authoring would be beneficial.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technological ideas and concepts in an understandable way to a non-technical audience.
Must display excellent teamwork skills, written and oral communication skills, and formal documentation skills.

Ability to work independently and with little guidance while maintaining focus.
