Assistant Manager, Engineering & Construction Underwriter

JOB SUMMARY 1- Underwrite Construction and Engineering classes of Insurance.
2- Maintain profitability of construction & engineering book.
3- Ensure excellent customer service is extended to internal and external customers and within the agreed turnaround period.
4- Attending market briefing, joint surveys, brokers or agency functions.
5- Collaborate visitation and business development of Construction & Engineering class with broking unit.
6- Collaborate agency visits and marketing with retail unit.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Attend to all quotation requests by BUs within 48 hours.
2 Brokers visitation on weekly basis targeting brokers with high volume of projects example: DBKL and Selangor govt appointed brokers.
3 Provide direct underwriting support to BU to expedite risk acceptance/confirmation and to support their GWP target.
4 Maintain all current functions
5 Increase market facing activities including functions and events.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science/Insurance
ACII/AMII/DMII or equivalent qualification
Minimum 8 years experience in underwriting or other similar role or capacity
