The position is responsible to assist HOD and Marine Manager for developing business opportunities and executing the strategies for the Marine Cargo business which includes working with distribution channels (agency, broking, direct, banking and group related) to drive activity, build relationships and execute our plans.**Major duties and responsibilities**- Targets - To grow the Marine Cargo business, executing new business wins, securing renewal business and meeting underwriting targets, driving submission activity and work with and direct /influence the distribution channels in achieving the targeted /strategic goals and plans for the year.- Portfolio Management - Assess and manage the portfolio performance, and underwriting referrals- Build products, distribution and capability -build distribution channel ( agents, broker, direct, group ) relations, introduce new and enhanced products and sales capabilities which meet distribution channels and client's needs. Includes system enhancement, maintenance and continuous process improvement initiatives.- Market Visibility - Raising visibility of Marine Cargo products and capabilities through various means including coordinating market visitation, develop relationships with intermediaries, stakeholders and customers.- Service standard - Ensure the unit is meeting and delivering service standard level agreed with distribution channels (quotation, enquiry).- Reporting - Adherence to reporting, internal and external, timely and accurate submission of reports and statistics- Compliance - Ensure full compliance with regulatory, PIAM, local and global guidelines**Underwriting Segmentation Goals**- Accountable and responsible for delivering the value proposition and service delivery goals of the assigned segmentation.- Drive the whole of account underwriting culture by demonstrating strong collaboration and instilling segmentation's best practices into our operations and processes, promoting the culture of continuous improvement and expanding the capabilities and innovation- Collaborate across multiple lines of business and other functional stakeholders in joint strategic and tactical projects- Contribute ideas towards multi-line P&C products to meet the opportunities present in segmentation, meeting multi-line needs of distribution and clients- Identify, develop and execute cross-selling opportunities within own lines of business as well as across others- Other segmentation tasks as assignedSkills- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills- Good grasp of market practices, competitor intelligence and policy coverage- Ability to drive submissions and production through our distribution channels- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Words, Excel and Power Point)- Motivated and able to work independently- Good analytics and problem solving skillsExperience- More than 3 years relevant experience in the class of business**Qualifications**:- Insurance qualification from Malaysian Insurance Institute (Diploma/Associate) or Diploma /Degree in business Administration/Marketing/Economics
