If you are looking to excel and make a difference, take a closer look at us…Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesFunctional :Periodical assessment from time to time to provide an independent assessment and assurance to add value and improve the degree of compliance in relation to business operation with objective of ensuring effective internal control system for Shariah compliance. To assess and ascertain that self-Audit checklists for Islamic products at the relevant business units are in place, well maintained, effective & remain relevant. To identify Shariah non-compliance, examine and evaluate based on prescribed Shariah ruling of Shariah Committee and BNM SAC and/or BNM Shariah guideline and report the finding to management for response and thereafter communicate audit report to Board Audit & Risk Management Committee (BARMC) and Shariah Committee (SC). To perform independent evaluation and provide opinion based on SC decision on rectification measures taken as well as following up with the respective departments on the implementation of the measures. To cover the scope of Shariah audit which is not limited to audit of financial statements, compliance audit on organizational structure, people, process and information technology application system, and review adequacy of the Shariah governance process. To carry out any other duties as directed by the Head of Department, CIA and Management.Managerial (team/group responsibilities)Support fellow team members to achieve the department's target;Review team SOPs and process flows;Participate or contribute in system enhancements/ad-hoc projects;Plan and organize learning/training sessions for internal Shariah Audit staff or with cross functions;Organizational (organizational responsibilities)Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policy;Work in close partnership with all control functions in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure and smooth operation of business;Provide support to stakeholders across functions in carrying out their businesses.Jobholder RequirementsEducation/QualificationDegree in Economic/ Finance/ Accounting or equivalent.Relevant certifications to perform Shariah audit dutiesExperienceMinimum 2 years' experience in Islamic Banking or Financial InstitutionCertification/Licensing RequirementsCertification for Bank Auditors (CBA) is an advantageSpecial Skills Relevant Shariah knowledge and/or background.Creative thinking skills necessary to assess complex problems and/or identify innovative control-related alternatives or opportunitiesBasic skills in data analysis is an advantageKnowledge in banking practicesPossess good interpersonal and leadership skills
