Position Overview and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with NI customers, sales personnel, engineering, and alliance partners to define, design, develop and deploy NI products tailored to meet specific customer requirements for customized engineering solutions. The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge regarding NI products and system level design, specifically in semiconductor production test industry or RF test system.
Overview of Integration Engineering Services (IES)
The NI?s Integration Engineering Services (IES) is seeking to hire an experienced RF Test Development Engineer to work on custom engineering opportunities that enable the sale of standard NI Products.
IES is a Global Services team which designs, builds, and delivers customer specific integrated systems to increase customer success, accelerate sale of NI systems, and enhance NI market reputation as a test systems and solution provider.

Job Responsibilities
This is a multi-functional role dealing with diverse engineering needs to design and develop customized engineering test solutions, and to deploy them at customer facility. This role requires daily interaction with NI Engineering Teams, NI customers, NI sales, and NI Alliance Partners.
The roles will include:
Working and interacting with a NI Engineering Teams and/or NI Alliance partners in systems engineering, software design, hardware design, and fixture design in support of customized test system
Generating requirements document and statements of work; specifying, designing, prototyping, testing, and deploying customized test system
Defining and implementing project plans, managing milestones and holding reviews to assure systems are meeting requirements and ready for deployments
Software Focus Responsibilities
Design and develop customized test system by using LabVIEW, TestStand and others applicable software based on customer?s requirements.
Architect test algorithm with high efficiency and accuracy in meeting test system expectation.
Develop full functional testing program based on integrated NI modular hardware
Travel at about 20% is expected, domestically and abroad to:
Support NI system development activities at customer sites
Resolve NI system issues at customer sites to meet stability and reliability expectation
Work with customers and contract manufacturers to improve NI tester performance
Support urgent NI system issues at customer sites
Provide guidance and support the operation of NI system at customer site
Position Requirements
B. S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology or higher
Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in a Systems Design role, Application Engineering, Technical Field Sales or a Test Engineering role.
Strong understanding of software design, electrical / electronic principles, computer architectures and RF principles.
Strong understanding of high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand)
Demonstrated understanding of the following concepts and principles:
Sources of measurement error
Engineering debug techniques for software and hardware
Appropriate selection of instrumentation and equipment layout
Integration of hardware and software
Grounding and shielding principles
Statistical analysis of data (Cp, Cpk, GR&R)
Review and understand schematics and interconnect document
Demonstrated ability to:
Work effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural group development environment
Structure problem solving skills - diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions
Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently
Persistently drive tasks and lead projects to successful completion
